Porsche breaks new ground in Cayenne Electric production

Having made its world premiere in November 2025, Porsche has announced that production of its upcoming Cayenne Electric model has started. It is also the brand's most powerful production model to date, with an output of up to 850kW, and impresses with the largest screen area of a Porsche yet.

And in line with the Cayenne Electric's production, Porsche has also announced that the model's battery module will now be developed in-house at the Porsche Smart Battery Shop, a state-of-the-art production site in Horna Streda, Slovakia. This end-to-end vertical integration gives Porsche control over the quality, precision, and scalability of its future battery technology.

The Cayenne Electric's chassis, side walls, roof, doors, bonnet, and tailgate will be assembled at the Volkswagen Group's multi-brand site in the Devinska Nova Ves district

With a gross energy content of 113kWh, high energy density, and large pouch cells, the function-integrated high-voltage battery of the Cayenne Electric enables ranges of more than 600km and supports 800V fast charging. Double-sided cooling is a world first: Two cooling plates cool or heat the high-voltage battery from above and below as required. This allows the optimal temperature window to be achieved more effectively.

In addition, the Volkswagen Group's multi-brand site in the Devinska Nova Ves district has been expanded to include a new platform hall, which will serve as the birthplace for every Cayenne Electric. This is where its skateboard-like chassis will be set up, along with the side walls, roof, doors, bonnet, and tailgate.
