Omoda and Jaecoo offer affordable deals at Century Square

With COE prices as they currently are, local buyers may be put off by purchasing a car at this moment in time. But Omoda and Jaecoo's Century Square roadshow is worth checking out, as the sister brands of Chinese automaker Chery serve up wallet-friendly deals to the public.

And with the COE prices set to change in approximately two days from the time of this article, so will these promotional prices. Therefore, potential buyers are urged to make a decision soon.

The Omoda E5 is offered at a starting price of $159,999 and 10 years of battery warranty

Three models, on display at the roadshow, are the beneficiaries of these limited-time offerings. First up is the Omoda E5, offered at a starting price of $159,999. Now available in a sensible Cat A variant, the 99kW electric crossover comes with a 59kWh battery that offers up a combined WLTP range of 430km and 80kW DC fast charging, allowing it to regenerate from 30-80% in 30 minutes. It is also offered with a choice of six exterior colours.

Next on the list is the all-electric Jaecoo J6, which is offered with a Cat A (RWD) or B (AWD) variant. For the sake of sensibility, we'll focus on the former, which is the one currently on show and offered at a starting price of $169,999. It coughs up a respectable output of 99kW and 220Nm, with its 65.69kWh battery offering a combined WLTP range of 354km and - like the E5 - 80kW DC fast charging that regenerates from 30-80% in 30 minutes. The J6 is also offered with a choice of five exterior and two interior colours.

And lastly, the Jaecoo J7 SUV, which - unlike its two counterparts - is a Cat B plug-in hybrid that comes with a 1.5-litre hybrid engine and an electric motor coughing up a combined output of 255kW (341bhp) and 525Nm of torque. Together with its 18.3kWh battery that offers 40kW DC fast charging (30-80% in 20 minutes), it coughs up a whopping WLTP range in excess of 1,200km. The J7 is offered at a starting price of $229,999.

Both the E5 and the J7 also boast five-star Euro NCAP ratings, offering buyers ease of mind in terms of safety.
