Peugeot launches the 3008 Hybrid 4

Available this spring, the 3008 Hybrid4 is sort of a tall wagon/CUV with a front-mounted 2.0 litre diesel, and a 37 bhp electric motor mounted on the rear axle.

The electric motor can propel the 3008 Hybrid4 at slow speeds. Or, it can work in conjunction with the 163 bhp diesel, for a combined 200 bhp.

This allows the 3008 Hybrid4 can behave like a small 4-wheel drive truck, using the permanent magnet electric motor, with its 200 NM of torque to drive the rear wheels.

All of this technical wizardry adds up to an impressive 61.9 mpg's. Not bad for a small French 4x4.
