Pioneer Electronics Asia has launched its 2021 Hi-Res Special Edition TS-VR170C, TS-V170C, and TS-J170C car component speakers. The speakers, designed by Pioneer's audio engineers in Japan, were made to deliver vivid audio that delivers all the intricate details in every piece of music.
Leading Pioneer's lineup is the TS-VR170C speaker system. It is manufactured by Pioneer in Japan and incorporates Pioneer's 'Flagship Sound' concept - a realistic audio experience that aims reproduces the sound from musician's voices and instruments within a broad, realistic soundstage.
Pioneer's audio engineers employed the brand's signature 'Takumi' craftsmanship approach, leveraging innovations from acoustics science and combining them with Pioneer's dedication to sound quality. Pioneer engineers rigorously tested over 200 combinations of materials, speaker shapes, and setups to create the optimal design capable of delivering Pioneer’s signature 'Flagship Sound' quality.
The TS-VR170C's tweeter was designed with a 25mm 'Dual Arc Ring' aluminium diaphragm, enabling it to transmit high frequencies up to 65kHz. This unique diaphragm works in concert with the tweeter's voice coil, aluminium equaliser, and a powerful neodymium magnet to deliver crystal-clear, expressive high notes.
Equal attention was given to the woofer, which features a dual-layer carbon fibre cone, supported by a high-performance square wire voice coil and an aluminium die-cast basket. To ensure a uniform recreation of sound across frequencies, Pioneer created a special crossover network for the TS-VR170C that uses thicker coils, premium-grade film capacitors, and gold-plated terminals.
The lineup's TS-V170C AND TS-J170C speakers are equally sophisticated. Drawing inspiration from Pioneer's world-renowned Z-Series speakers, both sound systems elevate the brand's 'Open & Smooth' sound concept.
The TS-V170C's aluminium tweeter and Harmonised Synthetic Diaphragm are created via computer analysis, providing a well-tuned, wide frequency response of up to 64kHz. Similarly, the TS-J170C's Injection Molding Carbonised Cone creates dynamic and immersive low to mid-range frequencies.
