Polestar 3 sets new Guinness World Record

Range anxiety? A "pfft" is Polestar's simple reply, we imagine.
The firm has announced that its Polestar 3 - not exactly the smallest SUV mind - has broken the Guinness World Record for longest journey travelled by an electric SUV on a single charge.
The record attempt saw the Long Range Single Motor variant of the car covering a total of 581 miles (that is, 935km), after being pushed to its limits by professional Efficiency Drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker and Richard Parker. For some context, that's enough miles to see you reaching the Thai-Malaysian border if you're starting off from Singapore. This variant of the Polestar 3, mind, posts an official WLTP range of 706km.
As if that's not impressive enough, Polestar adds that the record-breaking car has received zero modifications for the attempt and was riding on standard 20-inch wheels fitted with standard Michelin Sport 4 EV tyres.
The record is said to have taken nearly 23 hours to complete, and was done in mixed weather conditions, with the drivers switching ever three hours to maintain their alertness behind the wheel. The journey was completed with the car supported by the AA to ensure safety and to assist if the vehicle was not near a charger when the battery eventually ran out.
