Polestar launches 2024 Design Competition

Think you can design something better than the Polestar roadster concept we saw at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show? You could be just the person Polestar is looking for.

The Swedish firm has announced that it is launching the 2024 iteration of its Design Contest, and for this year, it is collaborating with Mattel's Hot Wheels brand. Accordingly, this year's contest brief is inviting designers to surprise and thrill the judges with submissions propelled by the imagination of their youth.

Polestar states that this year's winning design will also join the Hot Wheels lineup and become available for purchase across the world as the first Hot Wheels x Polestar vehicle to be produced as part of a wider partnership with Polestar production models. The submitted design thus needs to be able to be translated into a 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast vehicle. Polestar does state that visuals showing the car's interior design and its immediate surroundings should be included as part of any entrant's submission.

Entrants shortlisted ahead of final selection by both Polestar and Hot Wheels design professionals, however, will receive one-on-one coaching by Polestar's design team to refine their submitted designs towards final selection.
