Porsche Design announces Orlando Bloom as brand ambassador

These days, Will Turner spends his time modelling luxury watches instead of captaining the Flying Dutchman. That's right, Porsche Design has announced that Orlando Bloom will be the new brand ambassador for its Timepiece and Eyewear collections. As it turns out, he is also a long-time Porsche enthusiast. Dream collaboration? Only time will tell.
In the new timepiece campaign for Porsche Design, Bloom wears the Chronograph 1 - All Black Numbered Edition. This model draws on the heritage of the Chronograph I from 1972, the first all-black chronograph inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911, which was completely re-engineered and reissued in 2022. Like all Porsche Design Timepieces, it is crafted by hand at Porsche's watch manufactory in Solothurn, Switzerland.
Bloom will also model seven selected models of the brand's sunglasses and prescription styles from the new 2025 Porsche Design Eyewear Collection for the campaign, with the iconic P'8478 model taking centre stage. Crafted in 1978, it made its mark in history as the first-ever sunglass model to feature an interchangeable lens system: A quick-release mechanism allows the teardrop-shaped six-base curve lens to be swapped seamlessly for adaptation to different light conditions. It is made from extremely lightweight titanium and scratch-proof, virtually unbreakable polycarbonate.
