Porsche launches car subscription service in the U.S.A

Porsche has launched a subscription service for its cars in the U.S.A that allows drivers access to up to 22 different models. The smartphone app-based scheme, called Porsche Passport, is initially being launched in Atlanta, Georgia.

The service is available in two tiers, Launch and Accelerate. Launch is the more affordable choice at $2,000 (S$2,709) a month, and it offers eight variants of the 718 Boxster, the 718 Cayman, the Macan and the Cayenne to choose from. Accelerate is available at a higer price of $3,000 (S$4,064) per month, but it offers a choice of 22 variants including the four models from Launch, as well as the 911 and the Panamera.

Included in the price are road tax and registration, insurance and maintenance. A joining fee is also charged. The cars can be delivered or picked up by the subscriber, with same-day pick-ups or future arrangements available through the app. There's no mileage limit, although membership does depend on background and credit checks.
