Porsche has opened its ninth Porsche Charging Lounge.
Located in Evendorf/Nordheide in Germany, the new charging lounge, like the others before it, offers charging power at up to 400kW. This means that those travelling to Hamburg or visiting the North Sea or Baltic Sea can now stop to recharge (their cars and themselves) at any time near the Evendorf autobahn exit.
The new charging lounge offers a total of six 400kW fast charging points and Porsche states that users will be able to charge at this rate even when the site is full and all charging points are in use simultaneously. With this power, the current generation Taycan can be charged from a 10% to 80% state-of-charge in 18 minutes, while a Macan will need 21 minutes to do the same.
The charging lounge also offers a covered seating area while inside, there are comfortable lounge chairs, a well-stocked selection of soft drinks and snacks, a coffee machine, water dispenser and two modern washrooms. Powerful and complimentary Wi-Fi is also available, and both the exterior and interior areas are monitored around the clock.
A Porsche ID is required to gain access to the charging points and lounge area, but users can enter the indoor area of the lounge automatically if their license plate is linked to a Porsche ID.
The Porsche Charging Service currently comprises more than 900,000 charging points across 27 European countries, including almost 85,000 charging points that offer a charging power of more than 150kW.
