The electric motor is powered by a nickel metal hydride battery (NiMh), which stores the energy recovered from braking and driving. Power is sent to the rear wheels through Porsche's eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Porsche claims that the Panamera S Hybrid is able to go from 0-100km/h in 6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 270km/h. In pure electric mode, the car can travel up to 2 kilometres at speeds of up to 85km/h.
Porsche says that the Panamera S Hybrid is able to return a fuel consumption figure of 7.1 litres per 100km on standard tyres, and 6.8 litres per 100km on the optional low-rolling resistance tyres. The Panamera S Hybrid comes standard with adaptive air suspension, with the adaptive shock-absorber system with PASM, as well as a unique display that provides the driver with relevant information about the vehicle's specific hybrid driving status.
