Porsche has unveiled a 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition to mark the centenary of the historic Le Mans endurance race.
Available exclusively for the French market, the special edition car is based on the 473bhp 911 Carrera GTS, but gets design elements inspired by both the Porsche 356 SL and the 911 GT1 '98. The 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition can be had with either a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed PDK transmission.
Design touches inspired by the 356 SL include the use of a Le Mans Silver Metallic exterior colour, as well as the application of the number '46' on the exterior of the special 911. The special edition car also gets the Graphite Blue leather and Graphite Blue corduroy of the 356 SL repeated on its full bucket seats in the cabin.
Touches inspired by the 911 GT1 '98, meanwhile, include the use of rims painted in Aurum and finished with a fineline in Le Mans Silver Metallic. The special edition 911 also comes with rear side windows complete with a black decorative decor designed to imitate air outlets, just like those on the 911 GT1 '98. The use of red seat belts in the cabin of the 911 are also inspired by the GT1 racecar.
The 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition comes complete with an outline of the Le Mans race track in the French tricolour, and the anniversary lettering features on its B-pillar. While at the rear, a '24h Le Mans' logo and laurel wreath features on its rear lid grille, as well as a decorative decal with the text 'Born in Le Mans, Manufactured in Zuffenhausen'.
The car also gets the outline of the Le Mans racetrack embossed on the centre armrest, as well as special '24h Le Mans' logos on the seat headrests as well as special door sill trims.
