Porsche has updated the My Porsche app to offer its users an improved digital experience while allowing the app to more deeply integrate into their own digital ecosystem.
The updated app now sports a new home screen that offers more information, a clearer overview, and more functions. Users will now be able to find relevant information at first glance and can start many functions via a new 'Quick Actions' section.
This section will offer different options depending on their Porsche model, so, for example, owners of the all-electric Taycan will be able to access a charging widget to display and offers access to all charging functions.
Owners of Porsche vehicles equipped with the Porsche Communication Management 6.0 will also now be able to control vehicle functions via Siri voice control with the updated app. This function can be activated via a button on the car's steering wheel.
The updated app is additionally now offering Apple Maps EV routing, which was previously only available for Taycan models in the U.S.A. This new feature is now being rolled out to more cars in countries around the world. The feature takes into account the vehicle's state of charge, and analyses elevation changes and other factors along a route to suggest suitable charging locations and estimated charging times.
Finally, the updated app is now offering Apple Watch users the ability to access information about the vehicle, as well as the option to pre-activate the climate control and lock or unlock the vehicle right from their wrist.
