Porsche unveils special mural to mark the Year of the Horse

Those visiting Porsche at Jewel Changi Airport are in for a treat. Decked in bold hues of red, gold, and blue, the Porsche 956 you see here is the exact car that dominated Le Mans in 1983.
But there's more than just a motorsport legend amongst us. Marking the start of Singapore Art Week, Porsche Singapore has paired this special display with one equally special mural artwork. Titled Spirit of Legends, the mural was created in partnership with Singaporean Artist Priscilla Tey and comes just in time to mark the arrival of the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse. It makes use of horses as its main motif and is said to capture Porsche’s racing spirit in full motion.
Members of the press got to learn about the inspiration behind the mural from Priscilla Tey herself and were also treated to an up close and personal look at the Porsche 956 that otherwise resides within the Porsche Museum
Porsche is no stranger to the world of art. One does not have to look far beyond our shores or turn the clock many years back before recalling Chris Labrooy's Dream Big, a larger-than-life figure that was exhibited at Gardens by the Bay in 2023, or the more recent The Red Thread: Past, Present, Future, created by Malaysian-Chinese Artist Red Hong Yi.
And this latest partnership is no less special. All Porsche cars, of course, feature their own rearing horse on their brand crest, which takes inspiration from the city of Stuttgart's own seal. And this year also happens be the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport, marked by the firm's first class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951.
Visitors to Porsche at Jewel Changi Airport can not only learn more about the mural but also can secure for themselves merchandise inspired by the artwork
Tey's mural is said to symbolise strength, agility and momentum, and there's plenty of subtle visual nods to Porsche's motorsport history to look out for, including one to a cheeky poster also made to mark Porsche’s dominance at Le Mans in 1983. So be sure to make your way down and see it for yourself.
But don't imagine your visit will just be a treat for the eyes. Porsche Singapore is also set to release a set of T-shirts, thermal flasks and keychains, all inspired by this new mural. And a set of limited-edition red packets designed by Tey will also be available for sale or as a complimentary gift with purchases exclusively at Porsche at Jewel, so you can bring a piece of her artistic vision home for yourself!
The mural will be on public display throughout the festive season until 31 March 2026.
