Really? Lamborghini branded lawn equipment

Many moons ago, Ferruccio Lamborghini began building tractors out of leftover military hardware. The Second World War had left its mark on the region. But, the elder Lamborghini figured out how to parley that into a fortune.

By the mid-50's, Lamborghini Trattori had become one of the largest agricultural equipment makers in Italy.

And Ferruccio even owned a successful air conditioning & gas heater manufacturing business at the same time.

Needless to say, the Lamborghini name is no stranger to agricultural implements.

So, when German lawn equipment maker IKRA decided to go after the so-called "iPod generation". A partnership with Tonino Lamborghini seemed like the obvious move.

Although the Lamborghini family relinquished control of the car company in the mid-70's, Tonino Lamborghini has made quite a name for himself in the world of design.

From furniture, to watches, the Tonino Lamborghini brand can be found festooned on some pretty prestigious products, which is why IKRA licensed the Lamborghini name for its new line of garden tools.

The Lamborghini garden collection includes an electric chainsaw, a grass trimmer, a hedge trimmer, and cordless shears.

Each features the Tonino Lamborghini badge, along with a rather chic design, and a reasonable price.

So, if you can't afford a Murcielago, don't worry. You can still™tear up the front lawn with your Lamborghini.
