Red Bull Racing team dominated in Valencia

The Red Bull Racing team picked up pole position again in Valencia on a Saturday afternoon as Sebastian Vettel and Australian driver Mark Webber, occupied the front row for the European grand Prix. Going into the final run in Q3, it was the Aussie who held on to the advantage for a chunk of the time, however, his teammate Vettel stunned everyone with a superb lap to snatch the pole position away clocking a time of 1m 37.587s. Webber fought back well, but to fall short by split seconds with a final lap time of 1m 37.662s.

The third fastest , and a tad higher he was expecting, was championship table leader Lewis Hamilton, who, after an excellent first-run lap of 1m 37.969s for the Mclaren, occupied slot no.3 in the starting grid for Sunday's race. He will have his former teammate Fernando Alonso beside him at No.4, the Spaniard doing a good 1m 38.075s with his Ferrari.

Felipe Massa from Ferrari and Robert Kubica in his Renault will fill row three (positions 5 and 6), while McLaren's Jenson Button will line up alongside Nico Hulkenberg for the Williams. Rubens Barrichello comes in 9th, with the other Renault driver Vitaly Petrov using the 10th spot to complete the top 10 lineup. Vettel's fiery pace started in Q2 itself clocking 1m 38.015s. Q2 saw the Torro Rossos, the Mercedes, Force India and BMW Sauber out. The big surprise was the Williams overpowering the Mercedes cars and making it through to the top 10. Also Petrov's Renault sprang a surprise crashing into the top 10.

7 time world champion Michael Schumacher's woeful run this season continued, when he narrowly missed out on the top10, though gaining a good number of positions from 18th to 12th in the final lap he did during Saturday's Qualifying.

Sunday's race is expected to be a thriller ride, with the top 3 positions being separated by a mere 7 points between the McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Red Bull's Mark Webber.
