The Renault Group and the Geely Holding Group have announced that they will be collaborating to produce and sell zero and low-emission vehicles through Renault's Brazilian subsidiary, Renault do Brasil. Geely Holding is set to invest in Renault do Brasil to become a minority shareholder, and the new collaboration will see Geely Holding gaining access to localised production, sales, and services resources.
This will start with the firm gaining access to two facilities at Renault Group's Ayrton Senna Complex in Brazilian state of Parana. These facilities will produce all-new vehicles for both Geely Holding and Renault, in addition to the current Renault lineup. Opened in December of 1998, the complex extends over an area of 250Ha and is said to employ a workforce of over 5,300.
Renault do Brasil will additionally become a distributor of Geely Holding portfolio of zero and low emission vehicle products in Brazil, a move which Geely Holding states will accelerate its business in the country and allow it to benefit from Renault’s sales expertise.
