The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has revised the fee for the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) and the Goods Vehicle Permit (GVP) for foreign registered cars and goods vehicles entering the city state after its latest review.
With effect from the 1st of August 2014, the VEP fee for foreign registered cars entering Singapore will be revised from $20 to $35 daily, and the GVP fee for foreign registered goods vehicles will be revised from $10 to $40 per calendar month.
The VEP fee increase only applies to foreign registered cars and will not affect buses or taxis while VEP fees for motorbike remain at $4 daily. Owners of foreign registered goods vehicles can continue to purchase the GVP at the current fee for July 2014, however, any GVP with a validity period beyond July 2014 will be charged at $40 per calendar month.
The VEP chargeable hours remain from 2:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays and 2:00am to noon on weekdays during Singapore's June and December school holidays. All foreign registered cars and motorcycles need not have to pay VEP on Saturdays, Sundays and Singapore Public Holidays.
More information on the revised VEP and GVP fees for foreign registered cars and goods vehicles is available at both the land checkpoints. In addition, motorists can also visit this link, or contact LTA at 1800-2255 582 (1800-CALL LTA) if in Singapore, or 65-62255 582 if calling from other countries.
