Road closures in the CBD area to facilitate National Day Parade

The annual National Day Parade will be held this Saturday, the 9th of August, at the floating platform at Marina Bay. To facilitate this event, certain roads and lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic at different times from 10:00am.
The Police have announced to expect delays along: Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Avenue, Republic Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway, Esplanade Drive, Bayfront Avenue, Marina Street, Marina Boulevard, Marina Gardens Drive and Marina Mall and in addition have adviced motorists to avoid these areas.
People driving to Suntec City and Marina Square from Crawford Street and Ophir Road can use alternate routes via Nicoll Highway or Beach Road, while those travelling to the vicinity of Suntec City, Marina Square and Marina South are advised to utilise public transport.
Only ticket holders to the parade would be allowed into The Float @ Marina Bay and the gates will open at 4:00pm.
In addition, the police have announced to anticipate large crowds at the Esplanade Waterfront Promenade, Marina Bay Sands Waterfront and Merlion Park, and the area might be closed if overcrowding occurs. The pedestrian pavement along the East Coast Parkway (Sheares Bridge) will also be closed to the public. In addition, kites and remote-controlled aircraft cannot be flown in the Marina Bay area during the parade.
