The 900 students from 10 vocational training institutions benefitting from this initiative are studying Medium Degree Vehicle Maintenance, Bodywork and Vehicle Electromechanics, as well as Higher Degree Automotives. Seat Vice President for Government and Institutional Relations Ramon Paredes signed the delivery order of the 10 vehicles (Arona, Ateca, Ibiza and Mii) at an event with the Regional Government of the Principality of Asturias education minister Genaro Alonso.
Paredes said, "At Seat we are aware of the importance of comprehensive training in a sector such as automotives, and we want to contribute to future workers in the automotive sector by providing them with the necessary tools to complete their practical education, with vehicles equipped with the latest technology found in today's labour market, and improve their employability once they complete their education."
The donation of vehicles to the Principality of Asturias is framed within Seat's grant programme, through which more than 1,300 vehicles for learning purposes have been delivered since 1990 to different Spanish autonomous communities, including Catalonia, Castilla y Leon, Madrid, the Basque Country, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha or Cantabria.
