Skoda teases all-electric Peaq with first camouflaged photos

Skoda has released its first camouflaged photos of the all-electric Peaq it announced back in January, giving the world a first look at what's set to be the new flagship of its modern lineup.
New details have also been revealed about the car, providing a surprisingly comprehensive look at what lies underneath those swirled patterns on the prototype in these pictures. For starters, Skoda states that the Peaq - which rides atop of Volkswagen Group's MEB platform - will stretch out at nearly 4.9 metres long and 1.7 metres tall, while also boasting a 2,965mm wheelbase. These dimensions will make it Skoda's largest model yet.
Here's an additional feature that Skoda has teased: If you're struggling to find the door handles on the camouflaged car, that's because the Peaq will come with flushed door handles that retract when the car is locked. Skoda has made sure to assure that they "maintain the highest standards of occupant safety", and can be mechanically activated as an alternative too.
While the pictures do not show it just yet, the Peaq will feature Skoda's latest-generation 'Modern Solid' design language - already seen on the Elroq and facelifted Enyaq - replete with an illuminated 'Tech-Deck Face' front panel and full LED Matrix headlights with 18 segments for optimal visibility. (As mentioned, expect it to draw heavy visual inspiration from the Vision 7S concept.) 19-inch wheels will also be equipped as standard, although higher-end trims can get up to 21-inch items from the factory.
All that physical presence will also translate directly into interior space. The Peaq is set to be offered with up to seven seats, with Skoda claiming that "passengers in the second and third rows [will] enjoy exceptional legroom and comfort".
Skoda has promised spacious seating across all three rows of the Peaq. Boot space stands at 299 litres with all seats in place, with a 37-litre frunk up front providing additional storage space
On the seven-seater, boot space will stand at 299 litres with all the seats in place, but can be expanded to 890 litres with the last row folded flat. The Peaq's dedicated electric platform also gives it a standard 37-litre frunk.
Internationally, customers should be spoiled for choice on the inside too; five interior designs will be made available (all of which get standard ambient lighting), including sustainable options with over 50kg of recycled materials.
In true flagship fashion, Skoda will offer an optional Relax Package that includes massage seats, adjustable leg rests, front pillows, a foldable table, and a wellness app with six modes that can control climate, lighting, and massage functions. The Peaq will also be available with a premium Sonos audio system that is claimed to deliver immersive three-dimensional sound.
Additionally, the Peaq will be optionally fitted with what is claimed to be the largest panoramic sunroof to ever land in a Skoda; this will get electrochromic tinting, and come with a new system called 'Dynamic Shade Control' that uses electrical voltage to vary light transmission.
With the roof divided into nine individual segments, occupants can choose between three predefined positions, or configure the roof manually via the infotainment display.
Potential customers can also look forward to a new level of digitalisation, with the SUV set to get an Android-based infotainment system pairing a 10-inch digital driver's display with a 13.6-inch touchscreen. The Peaq will even get digital key functionality, allowing owners to unlock the car either with their smartphones or smartwatches.
With the latest announcement, Skoda has gone as far as to reveal powertrain details for the Peaq.
Three variants will be available, including a single-motor standard range Peaq (the 60), a single-motor long-range Peaq (the 90), and finally, the range-topping 90x that should get a dual-motor setup paired to the larger battery pack. Their power outputs will range from 150kW to 220kW, with the 90x boasting a century sprint timing of just 6.7 seconds.
Skoda even claims that both 90 variants will offer a range of more than 600km on a full charge, and support DC fast charging that should see their batteries recharged from 10-80% in just 28 minutes.
Elsewhere, Skoda has promised to continue its signature 'Simply Clever' solutions on the Peaq.
There's quite a fair bit that's interesting here - including an electric roller shutter in the luggage compartment, a dual wireless charging tray, and Skoda's signature ticket holder - but perhaps the most intriguing one are the car's wiper blades that get integrated washers. Skoda states that the new system utilises wiper fluids more efficiently, and also deliver more effective windscreen cleaning.
