Singapore gets first peek at the Bentley Continental Flying Star
26 Feb 2013|8,365 views
For the first time outside of Europe, Touring Superleggera displayed the Bentley Continental Flying Star, the first high performance shooting brake of this century. Only 19 units of this limited edition supercar will be built and it is designed and body manufactured under the supervision of Bentley Motors for engineering and quality, entitling the Flying Star to Bentley warranty and aftersales service.
Italian style and refinement, combined with British technological perfection, makes the Flying Star a true collector's item, yet perfectly functional for everyday use.
The Flying Star was built based on the Bentley GTC convertible which features a very rigid platform. The project required the modification of a number of external dimensions, starting from the car's A-pillar backwards, till the extended roof line, a wider section including the doors, new aluminium door skins and a new aluminium, electrically operated tailgate. It also includes a completely new rear compartment with two foldable rear seats that fold completely to create a flat loading surface that is more than two metres long with a 1,200 litres capacity - a first in this class and size.
The side view of the Flying Star features a low roof, prominent quarter panel shoulders and wide wheel arches, suggesting perfectly mastered energy. Viewed from the rear, the new tailgate dives between the wide rear wings and the oval rear light chrome bezels are a reference to Bentley's fastback cars back in the 1950s.

Each unit of the Flying Star will be unique. Customers will be actively involved in the early stage to choose the specifications of their own collector's item, ranging from two-tone, glossy and matt painting to bespoke cabinetry and trim plus a wide choice of dedicated options.
Touring Superleggera has also appointed EuroSports Auto Pte Ltd as the exclusive dealer in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Established in 1926 and recognised as one of the top Italian car designers and body manufacturers worldwide, Touring specialises in combining refined Italian styling with state-of-the-art engineering and craftsmanship to body manufacture one-offs or very limited edition supercars.

Under the Flying Star is the chassis inherited from the Continental GTC. The 6.0-litre W12 engine provides for a staggering 610bhp and a maximum torque of 750Nm. This allows the Flying Star to fly into a century sprint in a mere 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 322km/h.
