The Singapore Touring Car Challenge (STCC) 2025 took place from 13 to 15 March, serving as the support race for the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang Endurance Race. Taking place at Sepang International Circuit, this marked the return of circuit racing after a decade-long hiatus.
The revival of the STCC is aimed at galvanising the grassroots racing scene in Singapore, and the 2025 edition saw 12 racers across two Production Stock categories. After 12 laps of intense wheel-to-wheel action, Justin Toh (#80 Bae Racing-AGI Singapore Honda Jazz) and Terence Lee (#333 Team R-Engineering Suzuki Swift) emerged victorious.
Beyond the podium finishers, STCC 2025 showcased the depth of local racing talent, from 16-year old Joshua Berry making his car racing debut, to Gladys Lam proving her mettle as the sole female racer. With strong backing from Motor Sports Singapore (MSS), Giti Tire, official tyre of the STCC 2025, and Motul, main sponsor of the Sepang 12 Hour Endurance Race, the event underscored the strong support behind Singapore's grassroots racing scene.
Mr Winson Ow, President of Motor Sports Singapore, graced the event and was proud to crown the two new national circuit racing champions of Singapore, saying: "Our team worked hard to create the best experience possible, and events like the Singapore Touring Car Challenge 2025 form an essential pathway for aspiring motorsport talents in Singapore. Our goal is to continue building a strong grassroots racing community, with a broad variety of disciplines enthusiasts can choose to take part in. Given the right platforms and locations, we can dream of one day nurturing Singaporean World Champions in motorsport."
Mr Carlo Savoca, Chief Marketing Officer for Motul Asia Pacific, said: "We are proud to have the Singapore Touring Car Challenge 2025 as the support race for the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang Endurance Race. Motorsport has always been in our DNA, and it's incredible to see circuit racing making a comeback in Singapore after more than a decade. The passion and precision displayed by the drivers and teams are truly inspiring, and it's the same relentless drive for performance, reliability, and excellence that fuels us at Motul. As Singapore's motorsport scene continues to grow, we remain committed to supporting its development and look forward to seeing it reach new heights in the region."
The STCC 2025 race was followed by the running of the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang, a gruelling endurance race especially given the sweltering heat on Saturday. Expectedly, performance also takes a significant step upwards, with a field of GT3-class race cars driven by a mix of professional and amateur drivers. With participating teams from across the region, the race was eventually won by 33R Harmony Racing. Starting form pole position, the Ferrari 296 GT3 driven by Jason Loh, Luo Kailuo, Chen Weian and Jazeman Jaafar took the chequered flag and both class and overall victory.
