Skoda to introduce new 1.6-litre diesel engine for the Superb

The 1.6-litre engine replaces the existing 1.9-litre TDI turbo diesel unit, and produces the same power output as the outgoing engine, with 105bhp and 250Nm of torque. However, the new engine promises to improve mileage and lower emissions.
Skoda claims that combined fuel consumption for the Superb 1.6 TDI sedan is now 6.2 litres per 100km, and the figure is now 6.3 litres per 100km for the Estate. In the UK, the Superb 1.6 TDI CR is available with a five-speed manual gearbox and in S and SE trim levels.
