Both SBS Transit and SMRT have submitted their application to raise fares for bus and train services.
SBS Transit said in a statement that despite efforts to save costs and increase productivity, rising costs is still the main concern.
The Public Transport Council has confirmed that both operators have submitted their applications for fare adjustments. Decisions on the adjustments will be made in the first quarter of next year.
