Rail operator SMRT has removed the stalled train in Friday's incident at Redhill station from service, so that it can perform more thorough checks on its doors.
An object jammed one of the train's doors and caused it to stall briefly at 11:06pm. Train service, however, was not disrupted and the next train arrived shortly and departed at 11:14pm.
SMRT said in a statement that the door was able to close when engineers inspected it at the depot. However, the train was withdrawn from service for a more thorough inspection as a safety measure.
