A four vehicle collision involving an SBS bus, an Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and two taxis happened outside Somerset MRT station yesterday.
42-year old Mr Lim, the driver of the SUV, told The Straits Times that the chain collision started with a taxi that braked suddenly, to avoid a trailer that was parallel parking at the construction site adjacent to 313@Somerset shopping mall.
While Mr Lim wasn't injured, the rear of his car sustained damages after getting hit by an SBS Transit bus. "I stopped because the taxi in front of me stopped. I was shocked when the bus hit me because I didn't think it was so near," said Mr Lim. The collision caused damages to the front of the bus as well as a cracked windscreen.
According to a Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesperson, a 10-month old baby and a bus passenger in his 40s who suffered a cut were conveyed to hospital.
