If a turbocharged 3.0-litre Audi Q7 is just not enough power for your large and luxe SUV, Audi now has a new option for you.
The marque is now offering the new SQ7 here in Singapore, equipped with a 4.0-litre 500bhp V8 that develops a healthy 770Nm of torque. All this might means the Audi SQ7 will sprint down to road reaching 100km/h from a standstill in just 4.1 seconds.
This engine is paired to an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox, alongside quattro permanent all-wheel drive to put the power of the 4.0-litre V8 onto the road. And to lug this much SUV down the road, this all-wheel drive system distributes the drive torque to the front and rear axle at a ratio of 40:60.
However, should traction decrease at one axle, the system is also able to distribute torque to a maximum of traction 70% to the front or up to 85% to the rear axle.
Sporty handling however, can also be heightened in your luxury barge thanks to the optional advanced suspension package, which sees the addition of a sport differential at the rear axle. This differential will shift torque towards the wheel with better grip at the outside of the curve, pressing your SUV into the bend and minimising understeer.
The advanced suspension package will also add the use of electromechanical active roll stabilisation which works to cut down vehicle lean and sharpen the handling of the Audi SQ7, when it is driven at a sporty pace.
The cabin of the Audi SQ7 can be had with inlays either in brushed aluminum, carbon, gray, or high-gloss oak veneer On the outside, you'll be able to identify the Audi SQ7 from its 3.0-litre brethren via the more aggressive front apron, which sports side inlets with a honeycomb grid pattern. There are also aluminium-look side mirrors, and a set of rather tasty quad tailpipes at either end of the redesigned underbody protection.
While in the cabin, you can expect a luxurious motoring experience thanks to a spacious interior that houses sport seats upholstered in top-quality Valcona leather. These come available in either Black, Rotor Gray or Arras Red, and their backrests feature special 'S' embossing.
A 10.1-inch and 8.6-inch touchscreen equipped with the ability to offer haptic feedback will offer access to the various infotainment and air-conditioning controls.
The Audi SQ7 is now available at the Audi Centre Singapore from $500,951, including VES and COE. Those looking for a yet sportier luxe SUV however, can opt to wait till the Audi SQ8 performance coupe SUV arrives later this year.
