DS seeks to answer a very contemporary problem - how the latest in efficiency can exist without giving up on character and strong design - with its latest concept car, the Aero Sport Lounge.
Described by DS as being welcoming as well as distinguished, restrained as well as generous, intelligent as well as poetic, the concept car is said to preview our motoring future.
Inspired by the E-Tense Lighting concept car, the Aero Sport Lounge's design sports a steeply raked roof line as well as side aero details, which aid to reduce aerodynamic drag.
A 660bhp electric motor in the Aero Sport Lounge is linked to a 110kWh battery located in the floor for a range DS claims is in excess of 650km. This technology gives the Aero Sport Lounge breath-taking acceleration, with the zero to 100km/h sprint completed in just 2.8 seconds.
The grille of the car has become a screen around the badge and is illuminated by 'DS Automobiles' lettering. There are hidden eyes behind the composite material's window that allow sensors to read the road and feed computers with terabytes of information. On either side, DS Matrix LED Vision projector head lights are joined by daytime driving lights.

In the cabin, two wide strips create a suspended shape ahead of the front occupants. The lower strip, clad in satin cotton, displays information projected from the top strip.
On either side, screens serve as digital mirrors and group the controls needed for configuration and comfort. As in a first-class setting, each occupant has their own screen. The elements necessary for driving are projected onto the windscreen with augmented reality.
Between the seats, the central armrest reads, interprets and answers every hand gesture. The console is said to be able to respond via tiny speakers which pulse a wave that feels like something solid in response to each hand gesture.
The large seats of the concept car are adorned with satin cotton made from high-density mousse technology that brings comfort to the fore. The surface is extremely smooth due to its fine weave while maintaining strength and softness. On the doors, a plaited three-material microfibre has multiple transparent strands within it to bring ambient light into the cockpit.
