Targeted at discerning customers who enjoy the unique high-performance character of a BMW M car in the segment of BMW X models, the new BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M have arrived in Singapore. According to Mr Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia, he said that they are the first all-wheel-drive models to offer the supreme performance, dynamic driving features, athletic design, and premium quality of a typical BMW M Car.“With the revised look, the exterior appearances of the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M have been enhanced to better characterise the exclusive athleticism and performance supremacy that they possess,” Mr Neil further added.
Sharper and More Stylish LookThe standard fog lights of the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M are now set in matt finish surrounds in the upper area of the outer air inlets. Their higher and more lateral position emphasise the width of the vehicle. The striking three dimensional modelling of the frame and newly designed bars, angled in the lower section, make the BMW kidney grille stand out especially conspicuously within the vehicle front section.
As an alternative to the standard bi-xenon light, the new BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M are the first vehicles in their respective segments to be fitted standard with adaptive LED headlamps. Their bright white light ensures optimum visibility, while their high-quality appearance represents a new interpretation of the brand's hallmark twin circular headlamps.
With the newly designed rear lights with LED technology, the powerfully shaped rear section of the new BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M also feature more intense styling. The rear lights are now two LED-fed light banks which create the brand's hallmark night design as a harmoniously glowing light mass. The fact that they are horizontally aligned and stretch far out to the sides emphasise both the width of the vehicle and the flowing transition between the side section and rear.
BMW X5 M and BMW X6 MBoth the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M are powered by a high-performance V8 engine delivering 555bhp at an engine speed of 6,000 rpm from an engine capacity of 4,395 cc.
BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system is naturally geared to the specific power and performance characteristics of the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M, just like Dynamic Performance Control also standard on both models. Interacting with the cars’ special M suspension including Adaptive Drive and the Servotronic power steering, this ensures the driving behavior so characteristic of a BMW M Car, combining uniquedriving stability with precisely controlled steering qualities all the way to the highest level of driving dynamics.
Both models accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.7 seconds and stand out not only through the truly impressive delivery of power by the V8 turbo engine providing maximum torque of 680Nm in the broad speed range between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm, but also through the likewise smooth and consistent build-up of lateral forces meeting the highest requirements and the most dynamic level of performance in bends.
