It seems like naturally-aspirated V8 engines are no longer a thing at Maserati. The Italian car brand has announced that its new GranTurismo will be fitted with the V6 Nettuno engine, as seen in the MC20 supercar.
Maserati says that the GranTurismo traces its lineage back to the Maserati A6 1500, a Maserati icon which was created 75 years ago. The brand states that the classic was a 'forerunner of a class of car that had never been seen before'.
The new GranTurismo will be powered by a in-house developed Nettuno V6 The brand also claims that the new GranTurismo is ready to take the brand ahead into the future, emboldened by its unique style and driven by a 'propensity for innovation'.
We can only say that we are eager to see if the new GranTurismo catches on as well as its predecessor did, being one of the best-selling sports cars in the Singaporean market in the first few years of its production.
