Nissan has revealed its new generation compact light commercial vehicle (LCV), the all new Townstar.
The new LCV comes with a battery-electric variant, primed to future-proof business operations and accelerate the transition towards electrification. This electric variant is powered by a 44kWh battery that sends current to a 121bhp electric motor. Peak torque from this motor is 245Nm. Nissan states the electric Townstar will offer a range of 285km.
Alternatively, businesses may opt for a refined 1.3-litre petrol engine option which produces 128bhp and 240Nm of torque.
The fully electric Townstar is said to reflect aesthetic cues of Ariya, mirroring its LED head lamps and sporting an aerodynamic front shield which integrates an intricate Kumiko pattern and a fresh V-motion design.
Likewise, the petrol version of the all-new Townstar stands out with a sharp and dynamic look, thanks to its interlocking grille.
The Nissan Townstar will be offered in the U.K. with a broad range of safety technologies and advanced driver assistance features such as Side Wind Assist and Trailer Sway Assist for a reassuring and confident experience behind the wheel.
Intelligent Emergency Braking featuring Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection and Junction Assist, as well as Hands-Free Parking and Intelligent Cruise Control puts the Townstar at the forefront of its segment.
The firm's Around View Monitor will also be offered with the Townstar, offering the driver a 360-degree overview of the area around the vehicle for full peace of mind when parking in the city.
The all-electric Townstar will also enjoy the innovative ProPILOT advanced autonomous drive system. Supporting motorists with highway driving, the feature allows the vehicle to automatically slow to a full stop and accelerate by following the vehicle ahead, as well as keeping it centred in the lane - even around a gentle curve.
The Nissan Townstar comes with 800kg payload, a 4,300-litre cargo area, as well as a 1,500kg towing capacity.
