The Sai is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine that produces 150bhp and 187Nm of torque. This is in combination with an electric motor that is powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery, which gives an additional 140bhp and 270Nm. The hybrid synergy drive system is designed to utilize the two generators efficiently, giving the driver up to 185bhp at any given time.
The Sai is expected to feature equipment such as an infotainment system, with HDD-based navigation, that features both a touch screen and on-wheel cursor
control. There is also a ten-speaker stereo system, with leather seats available
as an option. Toyota expects to sell 3000 units of the Sai annually.
