Toyota officially begins production of the new Aygo

The new Aygo celebrated its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and created an instant buzz with its distinctive X-themed frontal design and its great range of customisation options.
All the styling and engineering decisions in new Aygo's development were purposely made for a high-fun factor.
The joint venture plant, also produces other compact hatchbacks such as the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1.
The factory was established in 2005 to build the first generation Aygo and its siblings. For the new models, the factory has benefited from investments worth more than £175 million (S$215 million) and created 700 new jobs.
TPCA currently produces around 300 vehicles a day, at a speed of one every 55 seconds. As early as next week, this output will be increased to more than 700 daily, and would reach maximum capacity of 1,000 units every 24 hours by early June.
