Toyota has launched the new Prius here in Singapore.
Skim through the pictures above and we think there's no chance anyone will be mistaking this new Prius for any of its previous iterations.
The Toyota Prius is offered here in Singapore with 17-inch rims, while at the back, the car comes with a 370-litre boot
An angular head light design, sleek wedge-like silhouette, and a clean rear that sports taillights which stretch across the width of the car now define the exterior of the new Prius, an appreciated departure from the peculiar design of the previous fourth generation model.
This new Toyota Prius is also now based on a new second generation TNGA platform that has received additional reinforcement for increased rigidity and improved quietness. Singapore-bound examples will get 17-inch rims, which are secured by MacPherson struts at the front and a double wishbone suspension design at the rear.
But of course, what really matters in any Prius is what's under the bonnet.
A 7.0-inch driver's Multi-info Display and 9.0-inch touchscreen multimedia infotainment system complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feature in the cabin of the new Toyota Prius
Here in Singapore, the car comes equipped with a hybrid drivetrain that utilises a 1.8-litre engine, allowing it to offer a total system output of 138bhp. This is enough to see the car completing the century sprint in 9.3 seconds, although potential owners will surely be more interested in the fact that this drivetrain gives the car an official fuel consumption figure of 24.4km/L.
Allowing you to keep track of this consumption is a 7.0-inch driver's Multi-info Display, which works alongside a 9.0-inch touchscreen multimedia infotainment system (complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility) in the cabin of the Toyota Prius. Also present here is a synthetic leather multi-function steering wheel, half-leather seats, and a total of five USB charging ports.
And at the back, the Toyota Prius offers a total of 370-litres of boot space, alongside a 60:40 folding rear bench.
The Toyota Prius will also be sold here with the Toyota Safety System Package, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Lane Departure Alert amongst other safety systems.
The Toyota Prius Hybrid is available here in seven different colours including two newly developed options, Ash and Mustard. The car is now available to view and purchase at Toyota Singapore showrooms.
