Toyota to unveil the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept at SEMA 2024

Inspired by Southern California's (So-Cal) surf culture, Toyota will be unveiling the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept at SEMA 2024 in Las Vegas, which will run from 5 November 2024 to 8 November 2024.

The concept vehicle is inspired by an iconic time in history when the original 4Runner became a common sight at 1980s So-Cal beaches.

The concept car combines the rugged, open-air spirit of the original 4Runner with the latest technology and design of the 2025 4Runner

Based off the 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD, the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept's iForce 2.4-litre turbocharged engine delivers 274bhp and 430Nm of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power is distributed by way of a four-wheel drive system, with a dual-range transfer case.

The concept vehicle's removable top blends traditional fabrication with computer-aided design (CAD) and modern 3D printing technology, and was designed to be easily removed by one person, providing the open-air freedom synonymous with the 4Runner legacy.

The concept car features several modifications like going from a four-door to a two-door, a removable top, and an extra two inches of width to both sides

Sporting a long-travel suspension system designed to handle tough terrain and offer a smooth ride, the custom system also sports steering upgrades and custom front axles. 37-inch tires mounted to 17x8.5-inch custom wheels complete its tough appearance.

The 4Runner TRD Surf Concept also features a weatherproofed interior with waterproof flooring and an adjustable front passenger seat allowing for easy access to the rear seating area.
