Two five-year old children on their way to school had a narrow escape yesterday - the minibus they were in burst into flames just a minute after the driver got them off it, reported the Straits Times.
The driver, known only as Mr. Mak, 50, noticed smoke coming from the bus before the flyover at the Choa Chu Kang Drive and Kranji Expressway junction at 10:45am. "I stopped it and brought (the two on board) to safety. Within a minute, it burst into flames," he said.
Mr. Mak, who picks up 11 children in total, also noted that it was fortunate he was just starting his round.
