Video of the New Rolls-Royce Ghost
20 Aug 2009|2,973 views
The production manager of the Ghost, Dan Balmer, is shown praising the car's exceptional abilities: a new 'anti-roll stabilisation system' keeps the car level even when taking corners and it's the first time we've seen inside the production Ghost.
Of course, take his driving impressions with a pinch of salt; Rolls-Royce does pay his salary, after all. 'Supercar figures, but the ride is something else,' he purrs.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost's engine is a huge 6.6-litre V12 with twin turbochargers. It's rated at 563bhp and 575lb ft, meaning standstill to 60mph takes 4.7 seconds. Somewhat surprisingly, that makes the Ghost faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.
As the video reveals at the end, the Rolls-Royce Ghost was supposed to be revealed to the world at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Looks like the cat may have poked its head out of the bag a little early.
