Volkswagen is Number 3, Ford is 4th

Ford has been steadily dropping down the charts, having been displaced by Toyota for the 2nd spot in 2003. On the other hand, despite trying condition, Volkswagen has managed to increase their global sales figure by 7.2% to 3.31 million vehicles so far this year.

Impacting the overall sales figures for Ford is the soaring gas prices as well as the recent sale of Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors. The 2 brands now no longer count towards the overall sales figures of Ford.

Volkswagen Group owns a number of successful brands that have done well this year. This includes Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Seat, and Skoda.
