Volvo brings Black Edition models to the U.K.

Volvo has announced that it will be introducing the Black Edition versions of its EC40, EX40, and XC40 into the U.K.

Volvo's Black Edition cars have long been offered in the U.S.A, and these new blacked out crossovers will come to the U.K. equipped with an Onyx Black paintwork, as well as a black high-gloss front grille and blacked out badging and Volvo emblem, on top of 20-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels.

The Black Edition EC40 and EX40 will be available with either a 249bhp drivetrain, or the 435bhp all-wheel drive variants, the latter of which have been recently updated so they now sport a 'Performance' drive mode and also come with remapped accelerator response. The XC40 Black Edition is offered with the B3 and B4 mild hybrid petrol powertrains, offering 161bhp and 194bhp respectively.

Volvo is also reintroducing the V60 and V90 estates to its range in the U.K. It states that the models were removed from its U.K. range mid-2023, but the firm has now decided to reverse this move in response to renewed interest in the bodystyle.
