Volvo debuts external airbag for pedestrian protection

Volvo - The Swedish marque that has been synonymous with the construction of vehicles with a strong focus in safety standards. With an impressive array of active and passive safety systems for the occupants, Volvo now shifts its attention to the pedestrians. 

The latest V40 will feature the World's first pedestrian airbag system - an external airbag will deflat in between the bonnet and windscreen, acting as a cushion in the event of a front-collision with a pedestrian.

Kudos to Volvo for the latest creation, to help save more lifes without having to compromise on the external styling of the car.
