In a milestone for the brand itself, Volvo Cars Singapore has announced that it has achieved a 38% year-on-year growth in car sales in 2024. EVs have accounted for 58% of its total sales, in part thanks to the EX30 - launched in 2024 - which became the brand’s best-selling model across its lineup.
This growth is also in line with Volvo's global electrification strategy, which aims for more than 90% of its global sales to consist of electrified cars. Locally, the EX30, EX40, and EC40 have played a pivotal role, with the former having the smallest carbon footprint in the brand's lineup. In addition, Volvo has said that the increasing preference for fully electric models "underscores the growing confidence of Singaporean drivers in the brand's electrified offerings".
Volvo plans to build on this electrification momentum by introducing an expanded lineup of electrified models. Consumers can look forward to the highly anticipated EX90, which is set to arrive in 2025, and which promises to deliver an unparalleled blend of Scandinavian design, cutting-edge safety features, and sustainable performance, among other state-of-the-art electrified offerings.
The brand's commitment to sustainability is further reflected in its goal of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Through continuous innovation and collaboration, the brand remains at the forefront of the transition towards a cleaner, greener automotive future.
