Measuring 4,560mm long but just 1,070mm tall, the winning design is said to be an example of how electric sportscars can be just as exciting as their internal combustion counterparts.
The car sports sizeable wheel arches, on which the firm's signature Thor's hammer head lights are stretched out, while at the rear, a large light bar sits between the spoiler and diffuser. The model being exhibited in Munich during IAA and is set to head to the U.S.A and to begin its tour as a feature model at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in California before making visits to other Polestar locations.
The participation of the scale model on the tour comes as part of a new partnership between Polestar and Mattel's Hot Wheels brand. The latter will provide the inspiration for the next Polestar Design Contest, with its 55-year history of innovative and outrageous design. Polestar is additionally set to get its production vehicles immortalised as Hot Wheels and Matchbox collectibles in the future.
