You'll be seeing a lot more BYD e6s on the road soon

The BYD e6 still isn't a car that you see too often on our roads, but that's set to change very soon. Across two separate tenders in the month of March alone, E-Auto, the local agent for BYD cars, has secured deals to deliver a whopping total of 600 e6s through 2022.
The first order came from ComfortDelGro, which announced at the start of the month that it was ordering 100 units of the electric MPV. The transport firm is aiming to have at least 1,000 electric taxis by 2023, a goal which comes under its wider plans to electrify its fleet. There is still an option for ComfortDelGro's order to be increased to 400 units.
The BYD e6 has apparently found favour as a fleet car because of its generous range - approximately 470km under real-world conditions Announced on 25 March 2022, the second and latest order of 500 e6s was made by private-hire operator SEV (Singapore Electric Vehicles). While the name may not be familiar to many (even its previous name, S Dreams, is unlikely to ring a bell), the company was actually the first to bring an electric fleet into Singapore with Uber back in 2016, using the first-generation BYD e6.
Both ComfortDelGro and SEV have invested in charging stations to ensure that drivers who rent their electric vehicles are supported with the necessary infrastructure.
SEV still maintains a 50-car-strong fleet of the first-generation e6, and when its latest order is fulfilled, will boast Singapore's largest all-electric fleet, outstripping Strides' 300 MG 5 EVs. E-Auto has said that SEV's cars will be fully delivered before 2022 ends.
