Zeekr X now available here as Cat A COE-friendly variant

Zeekr is now offering its all-electric X here as a new, Cat A COE-friendly 'Urban' variant, hot on the heels of the Cat A-friendly Volvo EX30 with which it shares its Geely Group Sustainable Experience Architecture platform.

Just like the Volvo, this new Zeekr X Urban offers a total power output of 110kW (148bhp), while peak torque from the motor that powers its rear wheels also totals 343Nm. This output will see the electric hatchback hit 100km/h from a standstill in just 8.7 seconds.

But you're likely to be more concerned about the fact that it claims to deliver an energy economy of 5.7km/kWh. Equipped with a 66kWh battery (the same capacity as found in its more powerful stablemates), this Cat A-friendly variant of the Zeekr X also offers an official WLTP range of 441km, curiously just one kilometre more than the 200kW variant of the X.

And as in the 200kW variant, the Zeekr X Urban also offers the 13-speaker Yamaha premium audio system only as an added option (you'll need to purchase the 'Flagship' 422bhp variant of the X to get these speakers as standard).

However, the Zeekr X Urban does come with the same 14.6-inch infotainment screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera system, and all the Zeekr advanced driver assistance features that are found in other variants of the X. These include adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, and front and rear cross traffic assist, amongst others.

Charging this Cat A-friendly variant of the Zeekr X can be done at a maximum power of 150kW when you're at a direct current station, while charging at an alternating current charger will permit a maximum charging power of 7.2kW.

The Zeekr X Urban is retailing at $205,999 although local authorised distributor Premium Automobiles is offering the car at a special launch price of $189,999.
