With a range of up to 570 km on a full charge, it's ideal for daily commutes or longer trips without worrying about frequent recharging. Inside, the car feels spacious and modern, with an intuitive touchscreen for controlling navigation, media, and climate settings. The Seal EV handles well in both city and highway driving, with responsive steering and a comfortable suspension that easily handles rougher roads. Plus, it’S packed with safety features like lane assist and adaptive cruise control, making driving feel safer and less stressful.Overall, the BYD Seal EV is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to go electric. It’S quick, stylish, and loaded with tech, all while offering a smooth, enjoyable driving experience.

Only downside is the interior design isn't my taste but overall quality is superior to competitors in the class. While looking like a sports sedan, it is actually quite comfortable and not jarring like model 3. Unfortunately, like all EVs, the range is not realistic and is only 65% of advertised, pretty much the same as competitors.

Overall, my assessment is that I am getting more premium car experience in a better price. Car interior has better design than the near rivals in its class. Comfortable premium sedan feel. The software/UI could use a little enhancement to make it more intuitive for the driver. Likewise the dashboard could have metrics that are more useable for the drivers.

Like lots of fellow Singaporeans, I was very sceptical in the past of driving an EV but has been caught by many surprises of great feedback about owning BYD Seal over 9 months from my Western friends living in Australia and NZ.Finally took a bold move to try Telsa 3 and BYD Seal before making a decision to get the latter.A close "Fight" In making our choice then .I guess it is about individual driver profile and style of making a such decision. The rest is a history- Great in driving and riding during every moment so far.
Verdict
The headline-grabbing numbers speak for themselves - in Performance trim, the Seal delivers 523bhp, 670Nm of torque, and a 0-100km/h timing of 3.8 seconds. The car goes as far as to wear a 3.8S badge on its tailgate.

But, the numbers don't tell the whole story. While it is undoubtedly fast in a straight line, the BYD Seal is more than just a drag race machine. The rigid platform and firm suspension allow the Seal to be agile, stable and capable through corners and sharp directional changes, while still being refined and composed while cruising.

The Seal also comes equipped with a range of driving assistance systems that allows you to cruise along the highway with minimal driver intervention.

All together, there is an overall sense of quality to the way to Seal performs on the road, across a variety of driving situations, that far exceeds simple straight-line performance.

And, that same sense of quality can be felt in the cabin as well. Surfaces are covered in plush leather and suede, while the switch gear and even the plastic panels feel well-put together and pleasing to the touch. This helps to elevate the tech-heavy cabin, with the 15.6-inch rotating display taking centre stage and a premium Dynaudio sound system delivering crisp music.

Also helping the Seal stand out is its distinctive design - a sweeping coupe-silhouette and a pinched front-end that highlights its athletic nature, while still remaining stylish and sleek.

Wearing a 3.8S badge makes for flashy headlines, but the real story of the BYD Seal is one of quality - it displays a level of refinement that represents a step forward and upwards for the brand, while still offering a generous amount of features at its price point. Taken together, it's easy to understand the attractiveness and appeal of the Seal, making it our electric sedan of the year.
