Following Mercedes and BMW, Volkswagen has unveiled its virtual race car for the sixth edition of Sony Playstation's most successful franchise - Gran Turismo - which will make its debut at the Worthersee Festival in Austria on the 28th of May.

The GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo concept is powered by a 3.0-litre twin turbo, VR6 TSI engine, which is linked to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission for fast shifts on the racetrack.
Road holding on the track is optimised thanks to an integrated rear diffuser, a gigantic rear wing, and a front splitter akin to a race car. The car wears 20-inch wheels surrounded by 235/35 front and 275/30 rear tyres.
Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel drive system aids in transmitting the torque to the tarmac while 15 and 14-inch vented brake discs, at the front and back respectively, provide stopping power.

Like the Design Vision GTI that debuted at the same event last year, the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo uses the Golf GTI Design DNA to create a strong sporting statement, with distinctive horizontal graphics.
