Audi has updated its Q3 compact SUV range with improvements made to aspects such as styling, safety, efficiency, equipment and power delivery.
The coupe-like design characteristics and wrap-around tailgate have been enhanced further to include a striking new 3D effect mono frame grille, revised bumpers and new look alloy wheels.
Depending on trim, the revised headlights now feature xenon bulbs and LED daytime running lights and are complemented at the rear by reworked LED taillights.
S line and S line plus specification levels upgrade to all-weather LED headlights and dynamic 'scrolling' rear indicators which illuminate sequentially from the inside out.
Under the skin, the two TDI clean diesel and three TFSI engines boast higher power outputs and improved fuel economy, in addition to reduced CO2 emissions and compliance with stern Euro6 emissions regulations.
A new 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine with Cylinder on Demand technology, which appeared first in the A1 and A3 ranges, joins the Q3 family. With 147bhp and the option of either manual or S tronic twin-clutch automatic transmission, it gives the front-wheel driven Q3 a century sprint time of as little as 8.9 seconds (S tronic) while returning up to 21.4km/L (manual).
Above it in the petrol line-up is a 2.0-litre TFSI unit with power increased to 177bhp, which can be linked to either manual or S tronic transmission and is linked to the acclaimed quattro all-wheel drive.
The Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system, which was previously offered as an optional extra, is now fitted as standard and enables the driver to adjust key technology modules. Cabin amenities include dual-zone climate control, a Concert audio system with a 6.5-inch manually retractable colour display screen, Bluetooth interface, Audi Music Interface iPod connection and light and rain sensors.
