A preview of the new Ferrari Roma, the Prancing Horse's new V8 2+ coupe, gives Ital Auto's customers an early look at the car ahead of its arrival in Singapore.

Keen customers and members of the media were given an early look at the all new Ferrari Roma, the Prancing Horse's new V8 2+ coupe offering that promises to exemplify Nuova Dolce Vita (Italian for 'the sweet life'). Hosted at Ital Auto's premises, the preview offered an initial viewing of the new model ahead of its expected arrival in Singapore in early 2021.

With clear nods to Ferrari's front-engined grand touring tradition, the new Roma features harmonious proportions and elegantly balanced volumes to deliver a timeless and sublime design. The front of the car features an overhanging sharp nose effect, while any vents or superfluous decorations have been removed to preserve the car's minimalist elegance.

The Roma's design draws inspiration from grand-touring Ferraris from the 1960s

The tail of the car is decidedly modern - the taillight assembly has been reduced in dimension to create a minimalist form, an active rear spoiler is integrated into the rear windscreen, and the compact diffuser incorporates the fences and the exhausts seamlessly.

The interior of the Roma is decidedly modern, and is an evolution of the brand's Dual Cockpit concept. With a focus on elegance and refinement, the cabin has been divided into two seperate and symmetrically structured cells, each cocooned in a wraparound volume that organically incorporates the dash, door, rear bench and tunnel. The interior also features the use of the most exclusive materials, including full-grain Frau leather, Alcantara, chromed aluminium and carbon fibre.

The updated HMI now features a 16.0-inch fully digital dashboard

Most notably, the Roma features a complete redesign of the Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The instrument cluster now compromises a 16-inch HD screen that offers huge flexibility in terms of personalising the displays. Also, the new steering wheel features multi-touch controls that allow the driver to control all aspects of the car without ever taking his hand off the wheel. These new haptic controls include a touchpad on the right-hand spoke of the steering wheel that is used to navigate the central cluster screens.

There is also a new optional 8.4-inch HD central display that incorporates infotainment, sat-nav and climate control functions. Passengers will also be able to delight in the optional 8.8-inch Full HD touchscreen incorporated into the passenger-side dashboard, which can be used to interact with on-board systems like selecting music, viewing sat-nav information and managing climate control functions.

With 611bhp under the bonnet, the Ferrari Roma is the most powerful in its segment

The new Ferrari Roma is powered by the brand's award-winning 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 engine, producing 611bhp and 760Nm of torque. It is coupled with the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox that was introduced on the SF90 Stradale. The Ferrari Roma will reach 100km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds and will reach a top speed of more than 320km/h.

The Roma's chassis benefits from the modular technology developed by Ferrari for its new generation models. Both the bodyshell and chassis have been redesigned to incorporate the latest weight reduction and advanced production technologies.

The Roma also features Ferrari's cutting-edge vehicle dynamics systems, the most notable example being Side Slip Control 6.0 (a first on a Ferrari GT car) controlled via a five-position manettino dial, and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer that controls yaw angle by hydraulically adjusting brake pressure at the callipers.

Orders can now be placed for the new Ferrari Roma, and Ital Auto expects customer deliveries to begin in early 2021.
