Komoco Motors has launched the all new Hyundai Tucson in Singapore.

Hyundai expects the new model, which is amongst its most popular SUVs, to attract even more customers with its cutting-edge design, roominess, dynamic handling and excellent fuel efficiency. Hyundai's new SUV arrives on the market with a revolutionary new look that follows the brand's Sensuous Sportiness design identity.

The all new Tucson represents a revolution for Hyundai in design terms. Overall, it features a bigger and wider body than its predecessor. Its muscular stance combines sharp angles and dynamic proportions with rich surfaces, according to the company's new 'Sensuous Sportiness' design identity.

The Tucson's futuristic design elements were developed through geometric algorithms produced by cutting-edge digital technology. This process, known as 'parametric dynamics', utilises lines, faces, angles and shapes created through digital data to create unprecedented design aesthetics. The 'parametric jewels' that are created with this method appear throughout the vehicle's design, both inside and outside.

The most prominent display of parametric jewels is on the vehicle's front grille, where Parametric Hidden Lights provide a strong first impression. Thanks to state-of-the-art lighting technology, when the DRLs are switched on, the dark chrome appearance of the grille transforms into jewel-like shapes, bringing an eye-catching element to the vehicle's front.

Parametric jewels also feature on the side of the vehicle. Chiseled surfaces create a striking contrast between a sleek silhouette and muscular wedge. The wrap-around doors are complemented by a sharp and bold side character line, which sits in harmony with the rugged look of the angulated wheel arches.

Behind, wide tail lamps with parametric hidden light details continue the design theme. It is the first Hyundai model to apply hidden rear wipers, which sit under the spoiler until activated.

Entering the Tucson's sophisticated and spacious interior, or INTERSPACE, has been designed to imitate a luxurious room where everyday concerns disappear. Inside, space and technology intersect harmoniously. Featuring shapes and forms inspired by waterfalls, the interior incorporates neatly layered premium surface materials.

The integration of state-of-the-art technology provides customers with an advanced and fully customisable digital experience. This includes a fully digital, configurable dual cockpit, which consists of a new 10.25-inch open digital cluster and 8.0-inch touch screen infotainment, which fills the centre of the vehicle. The all new Tucson is the first Hyundai model to feature a full touchscreen console.

Support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allows customers to mirror the functionality of their iOS and Android smartphones wirelessly with the 8.0-inch Display Audio. Other infotainment and connectivity features on the Tucson include a wireless charging pad in the centre console.

The all new Tucson also offers even more comfort for occupants. Multi-Air Mode technology features for the first time in a Hyundai vehicle, which consists of a combination of direct and indirect air vents. This creates a more pleasant indoor environment with gentler air flow, by dispersing air to the newly added multi-air slots in the front, in addition to the normal air vents.

The Tucson promises roominess usually reserved for models in the segment above. At 4,630mm long, it is 150mm longer than its predecessor. A width of 1,865mm and height of 1,665mm create ample space and headroom for passengers. With the rear seats folded down, which can be done so remotely, boot space can be increased to an impressive, cavernous 1,860 litres.

In terms of safety technology, the all new Tucson is fitted with advanced driver-assistance systems and a wide-ranging active safety package. For instance, it boasts an enhanced seven airbag system which incorporates a first-row centre side airbag, an attribute unique to this segment. This prevents front row passengers from colliding with one another in the event of an accident.

On top of extensive capabilities such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-spot Collision Warning, notable features include Safe Exit Warning, which alerts occupants to oncoming traffic when they exit the car, and Rear Occupant Alert, which delivers visual and auditory warnings to the driver if they accidentally leave young passengers in the rear seats. Also of note is the Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist, which applies the brakes if a collision from passing vehicles is detected while reversing.

The Tucson offers Smartstream 1.6-litre turbo petrol and hybrid powertrains. The 1.6-litre hybrid produces an estimated 177bhp from the petrol engine, with a combined powertrain output of 226bhp and 350Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre turbo uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the hybrid powertrain comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.6 T-GDI Smartstream engine features the world's first Continuously Variable Valve Duration technology, which optimises engine performance and fuel efficiency. It regulates the duration of valve opening and closing according to driving conditions. As a result, the technology increases fuel efficiency by 5% and decreases emissions by 12%.

At launch, the new Tucson comes with the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine and is now available at the showroom. The Hybrid variant will arrive later in 2021.
