Skoda has announced that it is releasing a new software package which will increase the maximum practical range, shorten charging times, and improve the display on the Digital Cockpit instrument cluster and head-up display of the Skoda Enyaq iV family.
The ME3 software update has already been installed in the Enyaq Coupe iV since production of the model started early in 2022, and is also now being installed on all Enyaq iVs. Models already delivered to customers meanwhile, will be updated to the new software version for no charge when visiting a dealership in the second half of 2022.
The infotainment display is said to get a more intuitive design in the latest software update Highlight of the update is the fact that the temperature management for the battery has been updated so that there's a longer service life, optimised power output and more efficient recuperation.
When charging with direct current, Skoda states that the new software will allow vehicles with the 62kWh battery to be charged at 120kW, and up to 135kW for Enyaq iV models with the large 82kWh battery.
A new 'battery care' mode has also been added for the cars, which caps the battery charge to 80% and reduces the DC charging speed and maximum charging power to avoid power peaks, all aimed at preserving battery life.
Finally, improvements have also been made to the Digital Cockpit and head-up display. The vehicle's battery charge is now shown in percentage alongside the battery symbol, and the head-up display now shows the battery charge level amongst other added features. The brightness and contrast of the rear-view camera display has also been increased.
